Olivier Giroud (knee) faces a late fitness test ahead of the match after picking up a knock against Swansea last time out, while Abou Diaby came through an hour for the reserves unscathed but is unlikely to be risked against Manchester City.

Lukas Fabianski (ankle) is two to three weeks away from resuming full training.

Roberto Mancini takes his side to the Emirates Stadium with a number of key players missing. Yaya Toure and Kolo Toure have both joined up with the Ivory Coast national squad ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations. 

Sergio Aguero (hamstring) has been ruled out while former Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri is still serving a suspension after his red card against Norwich.

Aleksander Kolarov (groin), Maicon (knee), Micah Richards (knee) and Jack Rodwell (hamstring) are all long-term absentees.

Brighton vs Arsenal Player Ratings + Highlights Arsenal keeps their hope of a first trophy since 2005 alive as they defeated a brave Brighton side away with the scoreline of 2-3. Giroud scored first two goals for the gunners and Walcott’s deflected finish clinched the tie for them. Player Ratings Szczesny  : A Mixed game for Arsenal’s gloves-man. He produced a stunning save in the first half but his school boy type mistake caused Brighton’s second goal.  5.5/10 Santos  : Typical Santos performance. Never seen a Brazilian play so bad at this level. Almost all Brighton attacks came through Santos.  3/10 Jenkinson  : A good game from the English youngster. Arsenal to regain glory days back.

ARSENAL WILL MOST PROBABLY WIN A TITLE NEXT SEASON. Why? Arsenal are set to receive a huge sponsor boost from Puma at £180m, additionally they  have a new Emirates deal worth £150m which was signed 2 months ago. Wenger is going to be given around a £120 mln transfer kitty out of that. For the first time in years this seems to be likely. In earlier years, the £400m Emirates Stadium drained Arsenal resources and the club  mainted a sell our players to maintain club finances policy. After Henry, Song, Fabregas, Adebayor, Clichy, Toure, Nasri & RVP... additionally, a big influx of money came from the sales of the Highbury Square apartments...that time is gone. For the first time we are going to be in control. All signs point to a spending summer and  we better have new star players.
